Children’s Sport Connection extends sincere thanks to our Honorary Junior Board!
Anthony considers himself a dedicated and motivated athlete. He has played baseball his whole life and it is crucial part of his life as well. Sports has made him the person he is today, it affects his life everyday and he could not picture his life without it.
Being a part of CSC was one of the greatest choices he has made in his life; not only does he get to help give back but he gets to give back with his passion in sports. The thing he loves most about CSC is how they are trying to have children gain that experience that other children get while playing sports doing what they love.
As his senior year concludes at St. Mary’s High School he will be continuing his baseball career as a pitcher at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
Christina Jonas is a senior at St. Mary’s High School from New Hyde Park. She has been an active member of the varsity swim team and softball team. She also participates in various community service activities at school as well as her home parish.
Being a part of Children’s Sports Connection will bridge Christina’s love of sports and helping those in need. Being involved in sports has been a memorable part of her life and she hopes to share that opportunity with others.
My name is Luc Pizzone. I live in Long Beach, New York. Sports, particularly hockey, have been a huge part of my life, and my whole family’s life, ever since I was very little.
I want to assist in the CSC mission because I think it would be great to help out kids connect with sports the way I do. It would be great to bring sports to kids who didn’t have the opportunity to play like I always did. I think every kid needs sports in their life because playing sports is a great way to stay healthy and have fun. Sports can help kids through the roughest of times, which is another reason I would like to bring sports to kids, especially those who are troubled.
Sarah Steensen is a senior at Saint Mary’s High School in Manhasset, New York. Although born in Manhattan, she lives with her parents in Little Neck, Queens. She has been a lifelong athlete, competing in sports ranging from softball to tennis and artistic gymnastics.
Sarah has dreams of one day being an anesthesiologist, and intends to enter college this fall as a pre-health major. She believes that “dreams can come true,” and that with passion and drive any goal is achievable – a belief that has stayed with her throughout her sports and academic career.
